A survey conducted by the Road Safety Foundation in Britain has revealed that 1 out of every 4 fatal or serious crashes which occur on the A-roads or motorways of Britain involves a motorcyclist. The report of the survey titled Saving Lives for Less also found that 1/3 rd of all the fatal or serious crashes occur at road junctions.
The report also reveals that road users are six times more likely to be involved in an accident on single carriageway roads than they are on a motorway. Also, traveling on a road with only a single lane poses twice the risk as that of using a dual carriageway.
The report also has some positive news such as the reduction in the number of fatal crashes over the last three years by 5 %, title of the safest region in Britain going to the West Midlands and the most improved road being the A40 between Llandovery and Carmarthen.
