Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) has announced an across the board price hike for its bikes, citing the reason as the burden of the rising input costs. The price hike on the Bajaj bikes is in the region of Rs. 800 – 1000. Bajaj’s rival Hero Honda had also raised the prices of its products at the beginning of this month, citing the same reason.

We have increased prices across all the models including the Platina. The increase varies from Rs 800 to Rs 1,000. On selected bikes the hike is Rs 1,000. The revision in prices is the result of increasing material prices
With this price hike, Bajaj Auto aims to reduce the pressure on its operating margins, which had taken a hit due to the stiff competition from its rivals and the escalating prices of essential commodities.
