The country’s second largest two wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) has registered a 68 % growth in two-wheeler sales for the month of June 2010 as compared to last year.
The company sold 2,82,808 motorcycles (Including exports) in the month of June 2010. These figures also include 20,000 units of its newest product in the market, the Discover 150. The company which has now completely exited the scooter segment had a sale of 526 scooters during June last year.
The company had an exports figure of 1,14,024 (Including 3-wheelers) which is 68 % more than what it exported in June 2009. The company said that its export figures are continuing to be ahead of plans.
The company expects its monthly motorcycle production capacity to rise to 3,00,00 units by July 2010 and also hopes that its current momentum in exports continues.
The above mentioned sales figures are staggering considering the fact that the company faced some production constraints during the previous month which took a toll on its sales figures.
