In addition to the two plants in Maharashtra and one in Uttarakhand, Bajaj Auto has proposed plans for their fourth and largest ever plant in the country. The new plant will be situated near the Mundra port in Gujarat. With an investment of nearly 1, 000 crore, the company plans to produce a four-wheeler which will be a next generation passenger mover.

The Pulsar 220 DTS-i is available in naked and half-faired forms. If you are looking for full fairing, you’ll have to get it done in an after-market shop. Bajaj might not be very comfortable to see customers handing their bikes to unauthorized mechanics/shops because a poorly executed fairing might affect air flow to the radiator and the aerodynamics of the bike.

Motoroids reader Niranjan Skoda from Bangalore caught the KTM-Bajaj 200cc Duke testing and the spyshots reveal new details. The first proof that this isn’t the KTM125 is the size of the liquid cooled engine. It is much larger than the 125cc Duke and will output about 20PS.

The sports segment of the Indian motorcycle market fascinates Bajaj Auto, its president admitted to Financial Express newspaper. He said the KTM brand will be introduced in India by the year-end. The engine displacement on the Indian variant is understood to be 200cc.

On the sidelines of the Discover 125cc launch, MD of Bajaj Auto Rajiv Bajaj reiterated that the next generation Pulsars on all-new platforms will arrive by the end of 2011. Rajiv Bajaj said the response for the newly launched 250cc Honda CBR motorcycle had taken them by surprise and their new Pulsars will be ready to take it head on.

Bajaj today unveiled the Discover 125cc variant and in the process completed a full circle. The Discover began its life as a 125cc commuter bike but through the last few years, plenty of variants with varying displacements have been tried out and rolled back.
Bajaj sells 1.2 lakh units of the Discover every month. With the 125cc variant, they aim to boost it to 1.5 lakh units.

KTM and Bajaj are working on a common platform that will underpin the latter’s Pulsar motorcycle, Bajaj Auto’ MD Rajiv Bajaj said in a recent interview.
The reason for the operation is simple – economies of scale. The cost structure will be simplified and improved while the end user also benefits from it.

Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) launched its 2011 edition of Discover 100, marking yet another occassion – the 40 lakh sales milestone for the brand that was introduced back in 2004.
There is no technical upgrade on the immesely popular 100cc Disoover except for multi-colour decals in two options of gold green and red magenta.

The Discover – The iconic name from Bajaj after the Chetak and the Pulsar. Bajaj had a stronghold in the scooter market with the Chetak in the 70s and the 80s. The influx of the 100cc Indo-Japanese made its life difficult and the Chetak started losing out its market as it had a poor fuel economy.
