KTM held a contest on its facebook page to encourage fans to come up with a name for its 125cc streetfighter concept motorcycle. There were tens of thousands of participants who filed in their nominations from all over the globe.
After many days of intense battle and many hundred names later, members of the facebook community voted Alexey Golkin’s shortlisted suggestion as the best. Golkin suggested the name “Avatar” would suit this performance 125cc concept motorcycle.
Note that “Avatar” will be the name of the concept motorcycle only. It will not be used as branding for the production bike which rolls out in March 2011.
KTM will recognize Alexey’s creative thinking by gifting him the 125cc motorcycle with personalized graphics. The bike, which arrives next year will have a 125cc engine with 15bhp power. According to KTM, it will also score high marks in emissions and fuel consumption departments.
