Dainese D-Air – Airbag protection for the rider

Dainese D-Air Airbag System

Motorcycle safety equipment manufacturer, Dainese has begun the development of an airbag equipped motorcycle riding suit for road-use. The airbag equipped riding suit, termed the D-Air, is expected to hit the market in two years time.

Dainese has been developing the track-use version of the suit for over a decade now, and it will be put up for sale very soon.  The road-use version will be similar to the track-use version of the suit, but it will feature different data points, which will be better suited to riding in the real world.

The two images above show two different versions of the airbag system. one system appears similar to the Alpinestars TechAir system in which only the neck, collarbone and shoulders are covered. The other system provides safety to only the chest and the back.

Seeing the two different versions of the Dainese D-Air airbag system for riding suits, it appears as if Dainese plans to offer its customers two different versions of the suit, depending on the type of protection and safety which a rider requires.
