Giant leap for Suzuki Motorcyles in India

suzuki motorcycles sales increase

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) has registered a phenomenal YoY growth of 72% in its sales. Suzuki Motorcycles sold 21,714 units in May 2010 compared to 12,590 in May 2009.

Atul Gupta, VP (Sales and Marketing), SMIPL

As promised we have delivered quality products as well as customer satisfaction to our consumers. We will continue to keep up this growth momentum in coming months as well

The reason for this impressive growth can be attributed to the strong response to Suzuki’s 150cc contender, GS150R and its scooter, Access 125.

This comes as a confidence booster to Suzuki Motorcycle’s Indian arm which entered India in March 2006, with a philosophy of offering ‘Value packed products’ to the Indian consumer. The 125cc bikes by Suzuki, Zeus and Heat are also selling in decent numbers.

Suzuki will also launch a 125cc motorcycle christened Slingshot this month.
