Harley Davidson XR1200X Sportster launched at 12 lakh

2011 Harley Davidson XR1200X Sportster

Harley Davidson introduced the XR1200 Sportster in Europe, Middle East and Africa in the year 2008. The bike was reportedly a huge hit mainly because it was a scorching handler.

The latest edition (2011) Harley Davidson XR1200X Sportster, to the adrenaline-pumping XR1200 range has been released in the European market. The good news for Indian motorcycle fanatics is that, the XR1200X is now available in India.

The 2011 XR1200X gets fully adjustable gas-charged Showa shock absorbers at the front and rear. The new model carries the same Evolution 1200cc V-twin engine which makes 91hp. This engine comes with an all-black powdered coat finish which adds to the mean looks of the bike. The XR1200X gets a new downdraft ESPFI (Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection) and new high performance camshafts.

Harley Davidson has given an over-dose of Matt-black finish to this bike, not that we are complaining. The engine, the muffler, the transmission cover, the swing arm, pretty much everything is blacked out (of course excluding the brake discs), and this adds immensely to the sporting intent of the XR1200X.

The Harley Sportster comes with 3-spoke alloy wheels (also finished in Matt-black) with orange pinstripes, measuring 18 inches at the front and 17 at the rear. The bike runs on Dunlop Qualifier D209 rubber which was specially made for the XR1200X.

The HD XR1200X’s instrument cluster comes with a white analog tachometer, digital speedometer and dual trip meter. There is also an optional HD Security System. The Bike comes only in two colors, White Hot Denim and Black Denim. Both the colors look stunning and look mean.

The 2011 Harley Davidson XR1200X Sportster, which was showcased at the 2010 Auto Expo, is now on sale and retails at Rs. 11,95,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
