Hero Electric launched three new E-bikes at Auto Expo 2010

Hero electric launched three new electric bikes here at Auto Expo today called the E-Sprint, The special ability E-bike and The Zippy.

Addressing the media person, Mr. Naveen Munjal, MD Hero Electric said that electric bikes are the future of transport and the launch of these three new models is a good news for the people who love environment friendly mode of transportation. The company wants to be the differentiator in the two wheeler market and adding these three new models to their existing line up of electric bikes is a step ahead in this direction. There will be a few more launches in the coming times from Hero Electric and the company is working on those for now.

Coming to these new products, the E-Sprint focuses on safety, style and comfort and has features like cell phone charger, sensor braking system, front disc brakes, large storage box capacity to name a few. The bike can travel 65 km per charge with a speed of 45 kmph. The E-Sprint is available in three colors, Olive Black, Exotic Red and Mystic Silver with the ex-showroom price of Rs. 32470.

The Special Abilty E-bike- Optima Plus is a special in its kind as it is aimed at the physically challenged people. With this in mind the bike has special features like the side wheels shockers with independent suspension system, special side wheel lights and mudguard. This bike can be easily converted from a special ability vehicle to a normal vehicle. The bike is available two colors, the Classic black and the Burgundy red at an on road price (Delhi) Rs.32796.

The Zippy offers 70 km per charge with a speed of 25 kmph. The special BLDC motor consumes less than 250W. The battery can be swapped easily within no time thanks to its unique mechanism of battery swapping. The rear carrier is capable of carrying heavy loads. The Zippy is available in Burgundy red color with an on road price (Delhi) of Rs. 17900.
