Honda has displayed the CBR150R to the local media in Thailand. The bike has a 149.4cc engine, the power and torque figures will be revealed on 26th of this month.

If launched in India this Honda CBR150 will take the Yamaha YZF-R15 head on. The power and torque figures, as we have said will be mentioned on 26th of this month. But as far as I think the CBR150R will surely have better power and torque figures than the R15.

The tires of the Honda CBR150 are also much fatter than our R15. The rear  tire size is 130/70-17 as compared to 100/80-17 of R15 and the front tire of the CBR150R is  100/80-17 whereas R15 has the front tire size of 80/90-17.

The Honda CBR150R is expected to give a mileage of 35 kmpl which is decent enough. Honda has displayed three colors of the CBR150R in Thailand, the Sporty RWB (red-white-blue HRC paint scheme), Black (with black wings) and Red (with black wings).

Nazish, do you think the Honda CBR150 is an end to Yamaha R15′s act in India?

  2. Nazish Siddiqui says:

@Shrawan- Well not exactly, but it will surely heat up the market if launched in India. It might force Yamaha to upgrade their R15 which I feel still has some scope of improvement.

But this will all depend upon two factors:
    1)Cost of CBR150R
    2) The Power and Torque figures of CBR150R

  3. Zeeshan says:

Siddiqui, The news is that Honda CBR150 will be launched in early 2012. Do you know the launch date. Bike looks promising. Waiting for the launch to catch one.!!
