According to company sources, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) will launch its first ‘sports tourer’ VFR1200F in India during this calender year.

Similar to the other big bikes, the VFR1200F will also be a CBU which will attract 110% excise duty and in the process take it a long way away from the reach of enthusiasts like us.

Honda’s Indian arm will be launching the model in a CBU format and will be pricier than its existing imported bikes like Fireblade, etc.

The bike is expected to cost 20+ lakh rupees and will sport a dual clutch transmission and 1,200cc V4 engine capable of delivering 170 hp and 129 Nm torque. Production of this advanced motorcycle began in Japan last year and deliveries will be completed in Europe this year.

The VFR1200F was displayed at the Auto Expo in January giving rise to speculations of a local launch back then.
