Indian Yamaha FZ-16 priced at 1.5 lakh in Argentina

Yamaha FZ 16

The naked street fighter from Yamaha in India, the FZ-16, has been put on sale in Argentina. The bikes being sold in the Argentinean market, are manufactured at India Yamaha Motor’s Faridabad Facility in Haryana and are then shipped to Argentina, for sale in the Argentinean market.

The Argentinean FZ-16 has no changes whatsoever, when compared when its Indian counterpart, which means the bike retains the same smooth 153cc powerplant producing 14 bhp of max power and 14 Nm of max torque.

The bike is priced at 12,900 Argentine Pesos, which translates to about 1,55,000 Indian Rupees. In Comparison the Indian FZ-16 is priced at only Rs.65,000 Ex-Showroom.

Most of the Indians say that the FZ-16 is a premium priced product in India, but when compared to the one being sold in Argentina, it definitely does not seem so.

We should always compare similar products, in India we got a tendency of comparing bikes on cc basis. FZ comes with tubeless tyres, digital meters, macho shocks on both sides. It’s anyday better than any other bike. I urge YAMAHA to incorporate a gas filled mono shock at rear instead hydraulic one.
