Yamaha has launched two special edition variants of the Yamaha R1 exclusively for the French market. These models, namely SP & SP/R are a tribute to the French endurance team.
The Yamaha R1 SP gets a standard RI chassis with no change to tech specs, but it gets a new paintjob, a single seat with a protective casing of Polytron, a minimalist plate bracket & a a pair of titanium & carbon Akrapovic exhausts. This one is priced at EUR 16,999.
The Yamaha R1 SP/R on the other hand gets a beefed up chassis, fully adjustable rear shock absorbers & an FGT Racing Fork, basically giving it a more sportier appeal. This one comes at EUR 19,999.
If you ain’t a fan of either of these two, there is also a Valentino Rossi edition of the 2010 R1 available which comes with Fiat/Yamaha colours, Rossi’s signature on the fuel tank & the ‘46’ & ‘The Doctor’ logos on it.
