In an interview with Financial Chronicle, Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Managing Director of Kinetic Motor Company, has said that Taiwanese company SYM, still has a 11% stake in Kinetic Motor Company. She added SYM entered into a technical collaboration with the Mahindra Kinetic Alliance Company, Mahindra Kinetic Limited, of which Mahindra owns 80 % and Kinetic the remaining 20%.

SYM will also continue to supply engines for the current lot of scooters from the Mahindra 2 Wheelers stable, namely the Flyte, Duro and the Rodeo. In her final comments Mrs. Motwani also went on to add that the current branding of Mahindra 2 Wheelers for all the products from the Mahindra Kinetic Alliance will continue and that there will be no Kinetic or SYM branding on any of the future products.

These above comments from Sulajja Firodia Motwani go onto affirm the fact that the future products from the Mahindra Kinetic Alliance, such as the Mahindra commuter motorcycle, will also bear the Mahindra brand name. But, what is unclear as of now is whether SYM will also supply engines for the bikes which the Mahindra Kinetic Alliance will roll out or will it restrict its engine supply to the above mentioned products.
