Last week it was made official that the first Bajaj-KTM bike will arrive at dealer showrooms next year. The 200cc KTM Duke motorcycle, which riding enthusiasts have been waiting expectantly, will be a key attraction at the Bajaj stall at next year’s Auto Expo.

We have already seen the KTM Duke 200 spy shots and test mule quite a few times now and the number is just multiplying. The bike which will first be received by the Indian market in its 200 cc avatar (up from 125cc version available internationally) is being joint developed by Bajaj Auto and KTM Power Sports AG from Austria as Bajaj Auto now owns 39.3% stake of its Austrian partner.

Motoroids reader Niranjan Skoda from Bangalore caught the KTM-Bajaj 200cc Duke testing and the spyshots reveal new details. The first proof that this isn’t the KTM125 is the size of the liquid cooled engine. It is much larger than the 125cc Duke and will output about 20PS.

The sports segment of the Indian motorcycle market fascinates Bajaj Auto, its president admitted to Financial Express newspaper. He said the KTM brand will be introduced in India by the year-end. The engine displacement on the Indian variant is understood to be 200cc.
