The overall sales in July 2010 was 1, 66, 214 and the company bettered it by posting a figure of 1,89, 962 units this month.

While the company’s major production is for domestic market, the exports too seem to be rising exponentially. This year the company has posted growth of 34%. Being the two wheeler company as we know it, TVS has excelled in scooter and bike market by 22 and 14% respectively and the three wheeler production has seen a boost of 6% over the corresponding month last year.

Even though the company has not launched a completely new product recently, TVS has consistently been chipping away at the sales chart.

TVS sells brands like Scooty, MaxR, Jive, Wego and Apache in India.

TVS launched its Jive a few months back and since then the bike has turned heads and clocked good sales. The USP of this bike is the auto clutch technology and the ease of riding that results out of it.

As you can see in this Ad that the emphasis is on how the bike makes riding easy in the city traffic with its Tmatic auto clutch technology. For a beginner this bike is a gift as it will make his learning experience simpler.

The Jive has rotary gear mechanism which enables you to jump to the neutral from the fourth gear directly, reducing the number of gear shifts which you would normally undergo. The gear indicator is also a helpful features which informs you the gear engaged.

The Jive comes with a 109.7cc engine and can be placed head-on with the likes of the CB Twister and Yamaha's YBR 110.

Another thing about the Jive which surprised me is the 15 litre fuel tank which for me is quite unusual in this category.

If you ask me I would still prefer a bike which has a traditional clutch mechanism over an auto clutch because that's what brings in the real fun.

TVS Motor Company is selling 8,000 numbers of its Jive motorcycle in India its representative revealed in a recent interview with Network 18.

The new commuter model, which was unveiled last year, is India's first motorcycle with a clutchless transmission. TVS has said this motorcycle will be the suitable one for the first-time rider due to its ease of operation. The Jive, on paper, is a perfect motorcycle for our congested metros.

SG Murali, Executive VP-Finance, TVS Motors -

It’s catching up, the new concept is catching up and all the people who purchased the product are extremely happy and very soon the numbers will further increase substantially.

The numbers convey that the Indian two-wheeler rider is indeed open to new concepts as long as it is an integral part of his regular ride. TVS Motors the country third largest motorcycle manufacturer launched it Wego gearless scooter in Chandigarh last week. With the Wego automatic scooter, TVS has the widest range of scooters in India yet Honda is the segment leader with more than 50% market share.

The Wego unlike its competitors would be marketed as a unisex offering. TVS has developed this scooter hoping that it would appeal to both the sexes.

TVS also launched the Jive which is the world's first Clutchless geared bike. TVS's motive behind the Jive and the Wego is to introduce new products for stress-free commuting. TVS is banking on these to products to drive TVS's sales this year.

Primesite, Mudra Max kicked off the outdoor campaign for the TVS Jive on April 25th and has met with success. The campaign ‘Traffic, Ab no tension’ sought out to spread the message of the no-stress drive experienced on the TVS Jive, thanks to a clutchless transmission.

According to a report, the objective of this campaign was to project the traits of the TVS brand which are innovation, environment friendliness and reliable customer service.

10 cities across India were picked and gantries, billboards, unipoles, bus branding etc were employed to air the message.

The campaign kicked off on April 25, 2010. Media vehicles like gantries, billboards, unipoles, bus branding, etc., were used effectively to communicate the message.

Arun Siddharth, Business Head - Motorcycles, TVS Motors -

For TVS Jive’s outdoor campaign, we needed sharp, differentiated and specific traffic joints in 150 towns across the country. Primesite executed this requirement well, and paid great attention to planning and details.

Mandeep Malhotra, Senior Vice President, Primesite -

We are very happy to have a client like TVS and appreciate them for launching an auto clutch technology that’s never been put to use on a bike in India before. Primesite has attempted to create memorable flashes for TVS Jive in order to build high recall and strong brand association

For me, the campaign, including the ad on the television conveyed that the TVS Jive is a combination of a scooter and motorcycle - it gives you the riding experience and everything else associated with a motorcycle, and the easiness of operating a scooter. What did it mean to you?
