Well the expectation was for a 220cc RTR from TVS but the company has decided to surprise everyone and want to take the competition to the next level by launching a 250cc bike.
The TVS Apache RTR 250 is around the corner and this is good news for all those who want a bike from this segment which fits within their pockets.
As published by Autocar India’s february edition, the 4 stroke, single cylinder 250cc engine of this bike would be capable of producing 30bhp of power at 9500rpm and a maximum torque of 2.2kgm at 8000rpm. The bike will have a 6 speed gear box (1-down, 5-up pattern).
The front suspension will consist of telescopic forks whereas the rear suspension will be of monoshock, rectangular swingarm type. The bike will weigh around 140 kgs and the top speed would be somewhere around 150-160 kmph.
Coming to the brakes, the front will have 290mm disc and the rear will be of 220mm disc. The bike will have 6 spoke alloy wheels with the front tire of 100/80 x 17 size and the rear tire of 130/70 x 17.
Coming to the most important aspect of the bike which is its price, it would be somewhere around Rs. 1,20,000 which is not confirmed yet. The launch is expected within a month or two.
We will be back with more updates and pics of this bike as soon as we have it so keep following this space.

this news has zero value without any PROOF. its nothing but a BIG BASELESS speculation
I think the pricing is speculative, I mean I am sure it is speculative :p
@BikeAdvice- ok.. lets wait and watch then
@fas- Buddy, you are right. its more of a speculation when it comes to the price. Until the bike is finally out in the market nothing can be confirmed. The same kind of specualtion happened when Yamaha’s YZF R15 was getting launched.
dude do u think we’re dumb?….the entire “tech specs” is just part of the article in autocar in which they just described the bikes that they had on their wishlist…they don’t actually exist….this is really ridiculous because this was one of the few blogs i thought were dignified and somewhat reliable…i’m seriously disappointed…the funniest part is you’ve actually fooled quite a lot of people!
and forgive me if i’m wrong, but the pictures look like a modded rtr 180 or 160…you’ve even blacked out the number next to “rtr” so it really makes me suspicious…
Ha Ha Ha Ho Ho Ho
My dear expert bike blogger, that’s a scanned copy of AUTOCAR INDIA’s FEB 2010 issue which had a WILD SPECULATED Stoy or more of a AUTOCAR INDIA’S WISHLIST from upcoming Indian bikes.
The photos are xBhpian Satyen Poojary’s modified RTR 160.
