TVS Motor Limited plans to re-launch its entry level bike TVS Max-R into the Indian two wheeler market by the end of June, reports Moneycontrol. Indian Motos Blog had earlier reported TVS’s plans to re-launch the 100cc Max-R in the Indian two wheeler market by the end of May 2010.
The new Max-R will come with a four-stroke petrol engine as opposed to the two stroke petrol engine of the erstwhile model. The production and sale of the old Max-R had to be stopped because the two-stroke engine could not meet the tightening emission norms across the country. But, with the new four-stroke petrol engine the new Max-R should not face that problem anymore.
The new max-R is expected to come with a new 100 cc four-stroke petrol engine. Also, the new max-R is expected to be priced in the range of close to Rs. 40,000 when it is launched into the market at the end of June. Such pricing means that TVS will be taking the fight straight to Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto in the entry-level two wheeler space.
