Yamaha Vino could add style and sensation to the boring group of commuter scooters
After reclaiming the trust of bike enthusiasts in India with models like YZF-R15 and FZ-16, Yamaha is planning to launch scooters in the Indian two wheeler market and grab a decent share of the pie dominated by Honda.
The company is conducting a market study to check the potential of scooter market in India. This study should get completed by middle of this 2010 and then Yamaha would focus on deciding upon the time frame of launching the product along with which model to launch.
The company is yet to finalize the product line and is still decided if or not to launch a product from its existing global scooter line up. All this would depend upon the feasibility study the company is in progress with.
Yamaha displayed their 500cc TMAX sports scooter at the recently concluded Auto-Expo which is from their international lineup. May be a mini TMAX, just like how the mini R1 (YZF R-15) stunned us two years ago, would not be a bad idea to start with!
